The Rolling Stones List price $17.98
The last really worthwhile Rolling Stones album / 4
4 stars, could possibly get 4.5...

Although the 11 tracks were all leftovers from previous sessions, TATTOO YOU is the best of the Rolling Stones albums that they put out in the 1980s, and its also the last decent Stones album.

It starts on an excellent note with 'Start Me Up' (the last great single the group released, and also ends on an excellent note with 'Waiting on a Friend'. The original vinyl could be classified into a rock n' roll side (side one) and a ballad side (side two). The first side starts off well but runs out of steam towards the end with 'Neighbours', but the other 5 tracks are mostly decent, and 'Slave' is superb. The ballad side suffers from a couple of weak tracks, most notably 'Heaven' and 'No Use in Crying' but the rest is good.

Apart from the above mentioned three tracks this is a good Stones album overall. (That said the weaker tracks aren't so bad that they need to be skipped). The digitally remastered cd provides enhanced sound quality. While not their best and nowhere near the the likes of 'Sticky Fingers' or 'Exile on Main Street', it equals or perhaps betters 'Some Girls', and is also much better than its predecessor 'Emotional Rescue' and also the later albums that followed (starting with 'Undercover').

Song "Susie Q"

(Broadwater/Lewis/Hawkins)

Oh, Susie Q
Oh, Susie Q
Oh, Susie Q
I love you
My Susie Q
I love the way you walk
I love the way you talk
Love the way you walk
I love the way you talk
My Susie Q
Say that you'll be true
Say that you'll be true
Say that you'll be true
And never leave me blue
My Susie Q
Oh, Susie Q
Oh, Susie Q
Oh, Susie Q
Honey I love you
My Susie Q

Bands on the Run: Colgate's Hidden Music Scene (Colgate Maroon-News)
Colgate has many unique features that distinguish it from other institutions, including such campus staples as the Cruiser, the brutal walk up the Persson Steps in the dead of winter and, of course, the Jug. One of the most exceptional qualities, however, is that the most popular live band on campus is one composed of professors.
